Couldn't Resist!

I’ve told myself that I would not get carried away and buy Nolan too many toys- I feel this way because I notice that when I have too many choices in life (like a menu at a restaurant) I start getting anxiety and have a very difficult time deciding what to order- it actually becomes stressful.  My thinking is that having too many toys to play with will actually overwhelm him.  I still think this, but I have bought just a few age appropriate toys now and then.  This one I couldn’t resist, even though I’m going to have to store it for like 3 years until he’s the right age for playing with it- but what gets better than a toy circular saw that has a moving blade, laser light, and makes a very realistic cutting sound when you pull the handle?  Ben uses his circular saw a lot so I see this as being a very practical copy-adults-play-time in the future.  Hey, for $7.00 I think I got a great deal!  Also saw a toy lawnmower and wheelbarrow at Kmart also for like $7.00 the other day, but these are kind of big so I think I’ll wait till he’s actually able to use them to buy.

Grammy to the Rescue- the Toothbrush Toy

I bet there’s been something missing about your toothbrush that you couldn’t quite put your finger on…all you knew was that it wasn’t all that it could be, and that you made you just a little sad each morning.  That because what you’ve been wanting is this:

Lo and behold the easy to grip baby toothbrush.  Is Nolan brushing his teeth yet?  Well in a way.  These little darlings happen to be one of Nolan’s favorite toys- he chews on it longer than most items I give him and the handle is just the right size and design for his little fingers to grasp.  Teething rings have so far been too bulky for him and he has expressed no interest in them.  But his little blue toothbrush Grammy got him?  LOVES IT!  I begged her to find me more- somehow I’ve managed to keep track of this one blue 3″ wide toothbrush for the last few months, knowing how precious it was, giving me 10 minutes of free time here and there, but I’ve been fearing the day this little distracter managed to disappear, and my freedom with it.  Thankfully today I was bestowed with 3 more!

Curry + Cream Carpet = Stains

Nolans hands are getting too quick for me boy!  I think he has go-go-gadget arms and he just hasn’t let on to us- how else could I turn away while holding him and he somehow manages to grab something that seems like it’s two feet away?  While sitting at the computer desk with my lunch to my left, I turned with him in my lap to get up and somehow my chicken curry salad came with us.  Of course of all days it had to be a day where my lunch contained curry powder- that delightful combo of spices a vibrant yellow in color with immense power to color whatever it touches…including cream carpet.  Lovely.  Just another delightful afternoon with my darling, intelligent and wondrous son.  Hey- my carpet can’t smile at me and make those darling little baby talk sounds, so carpet-shmarpet.
