I don’t know where the time is going! I really wish I had more time and brain capacity to devote to writing stories about Nolan and what he’s up to in a clever way, but the few little ideas I get when Nolan is doing something cute leave my brain the second after they appear as Nolan is already on to the next thing and I’m up to my eyeballs in keeping him safe and happy at his current stage.
A couple quick things I can say- Nolan is still a totally social little guy.  Just today at the post office while waiting in line he gave big smiles and excited breathing and chortles to the woman behind me while pumping his arm up and down in excitement. He reaches out to strangers to be held by them. When he is having fun and is excited he opens his mouth really big and wrinkles his nose and pumps one of his arms up and down over and over. It’s so darn cute!!

Our hike at Lake Chabot. You know what I just can’t believe? Every hike I take Nolan on we always see wildlife! I’ve done a lot of hiking in my life and never have I come across so many animals as I’ve been coming across on these Nolan and Mommy hikes. Today we saw a turtle sunning himself until we got too close…then he made a quick getaway by rolling (although looked more like falling to me) off the hill he was on back into the cool lake water. We saw a beautiful yellow bird, a beautiful caterpillar with gorgeous colors, and of course the geese that are always swimming around looking for handouts…I’ll have to remind Nolan to bring some bread next time.

Well, Nolan’s been pulling himself up to standing all over the house lately using the coffee table, chairs, the couch- and he just figured out how to stand up in his crib last week! It was rather pitiful as we was bawling to get out…but I couldn’t help but prolong his torture a few more seconds to get a pic and short video.
