Cleaning out…
February 1st, 2011 by Busy Mommy
Goodbye Safety pins from Nolan’s swaddling days (first two weeks of his life)…Goodbye receiving blankets that I used every day for swaddling, nursing, keeping Nolan warm, wiping his spit ups and generally cleaning up after him. He’s moved beyond them and I haven’t needed them in awhile.
Goodbye rancid diaper cream that I made when Nolan was only 3 days old. I did use it and it smelled wonderfully of lavender….but he doesn’t really need anything anymore except for the very occasionally time when he starts getting a rash, which we then use David Hosking’s Diaper Rash Cream, which is hands down, the BEST diaper cream EVER ON THE ENTIRE PLANET. That’s because it works.
Before we had it Nolan’s pediatrician gave us a prescription for something like clotrimazole or something like that when he got a pretty bad rash around 1 or 2 months- it’s “medicated” and you are not supposed to use it more than 2 or 3 weeks because it can cause liver damage…um, yeah, like I want to use that on my 1 month old helpless infant. But at the time we didn’t have a choice because nothing else was helping and it was getting worse. The thing is, this medicated liver-damaging cream didn’t help either, and after 3 weeks we were like, what do we do now? Ben did some research online and found this, and though it was expensive, it had excellent customer reviews, so we took the leap. It is now the only thing we ever need and gets rid of any forming rash instantly. Well enough of that. Not too many of you reading this have any need or interest in diaper rash cream, so let’s move on to the next blog post eh?
