I had the opportunity to visit someone special that I haven’t seen in a number of years- this person has known me since I was about 9 years old I’d say. I also had the privilege of meeting her 6 month old grandson. She has goats and chickens and other farmy type animals like that so on the way there I told Nolan that we were going go visit mommy’s friend and see the animals she has. As soon as we got there and they were introduced, Nolan was looking all around saying “see da amnals…..se da amnals”. We ate lunch first and chatted a bit and every now and then Nolan would pipe up again. “se da amnals.”
I’d love to explain just how adorable her little grandson is, but a picture is worth a thousand words right?
Nolan had a lot of fun following the goat and sheep around,
but was a lot less interested in petting the rabbits- after my friend pulled out two bunnies for Nolan to pet he basically waved them off while pointing to the black and white spotted bunny still in the cage- apparently that was the only one he was interested in.
We saw chickens…..(which since I want to live on a farm, as you know, was quite delightful).
And took a short walk where Nolan was very serious about being involved with the stroller pushing/pulling.

Sometimes as parents, you’re just unaware of how much your little kiddo is picking up around him. In our bedroom we have only one alarm clock which is on Ben’s side of the bed. So there are many mornings when we are waking up and I roll over and ask “what time is it?” Lately some mornings, since Nolan is usually the first one awake, he comes padding into our room and climbs in bed with us, laying and playing between us till Ben and I can get rid of that “wake from the dead feeling” before actually rising. The other morning, after Nolan got in between us, he rolled over to his daddy and asked, “What time is it?” We both burst out laughing- boy he doesn’t miss a thing does he!
