While cleaning out our side yard about a month ago, Ben used some of the odds and ends of wood and lattice to make a simple make-shift hiding place for Nolan to hang out when he likes.

Fozzie the Bear started it.  Among what must be 100 200 books now that I’ve gathered for between 29 and 99 cents at the thriftstore, is a book called “Fozzie Bear – Star Helper.“  Because Fozzie keeps forgetting to do things like pick up his toys, put the cap on the toothpaste, etc, he ends up causing a lot of havoc as his baby brother inevitably comes along and smears that toothpaste all over the bathroom, or his mom comes along and slips on one of his many small toys littering the floor.  His parents come up with the idea of a star chart.  While reading it, Nolan told his Daddy that he wanted a star chart too.  [Refer to amazing hand-drawn-by-mommy star chart above- especially take note of the skillfully drawn chicken-duck.]

He’s done very well with it!  Once he gets 100 stars, he gets to trade his chart in for something he’d like….like train tracks.  Or train tracks.  Or trains.  He’s been on a train kick lately.
