Your Smile for the Day

So Raquel is over just about every week these days for several hours- they play all kinds of things and truly entertain themselves. They both have what we all like to call “personality” which means they are pretty vivacious little beings- but I’m pretty used to it by now since Nolan has been that way from birth, so I find it pretty easy to have them together- except at Target. I’ve learned going shopping with them leads me to many frustrated tones of voice. Usually it happens in this order:
1. Nolan irritating Kelly on purpose and finding it hilariously funny.
2. Kelly saying something like, “Nolan sto-p! Sto-p it!” (whiny voice)
3. Nana: “Nolan leave kelly alone! Kelly it’s okay- both of you just stop being so loud!”
4. Then one or both of them: “Can I buy that balloon? Hey, lets get that movie! Can we get those crayons? Let’s get….”
5. Nana: “No! Stop asking for stuff you guys. We’re not getting anything else. You’re driving me crazy. We’re already getting a craft project- we can’t buy everything in the store.”
I have to share it because I just know I’m going to forget these types of conversations in several years, and since they’re so funny to me even now, I know I’ll really be laughing later.
They have such a good time playing at the house though- hour upon hour of creativity and I love that they hardly need me at all! Â
