This is me and one of my good friends.  I came across this photo today while looking for different hiking and nature photos to print and put in our office.  It’s funny to think that when this photo was taken, neither of us had children or any of thoughts of them yet.  Life was certainly simpler then, but now oh how much richer with these two little tykes.

Ben and I took a weekend getaway in order not to have to strain to hear each other talk over the din of Nolan’s constant loud talking, humming and singing.  We love it, oh how we love it- all that chatter and noise from such a tiny person- but now and again, Ben and I would love to carry out a meaningful conversation, and maybe find out how each other is doing.

This is the second evening in a row that we’ve decided to make and eat our dinner at the park near our house.  It is so pleasant!  I could do this every night.  It’s simple, it’s outside where the fresh air is, it’s easy for Nolan to run around and get some exercise while we can keep our eye on him, and a great way for Ben and I to spend time together and talk a bit while Nolan is occupied. Those teeny tiny people in the background of the photo are my 2 men by the way.
